About the Position: Serves as Supervisory Management Analyst of the Mission Command Division, Strategic Operations Directorate (DAMO-SO), G-3/5/7 Headquarters Department of the Army. Has authority and responsibility for planning, organizing and managing all technical and administrative functions of the Mission Command Division.
Duties
Assist the Division Chief in directing policy, procedural, and operational changes to increase effectiveness and mission accomplishment within the division.
Assist the Division Chief in establishing priorities, clarifies responsibilities, develops teamwork, enhances communications, builds inter and intra-Army staff relations, establishes strategic intent, eliminates duplication, and resolves conflicts.
Manage daily division operations and ensures lines of communications between Team Leads, Division Chiefs, Director, Army Staff principals, Communities of Interest, and other agencies.
Exercise Army-wide oversight coordinating of staff's actions and tasks within the division and from all external agencies and units.
Directs work to accomplish the Division’s mission by developing strategic goals and implementing objectives and informing subordinate staff and team leads of organizational goals, revised policies, new and revised requirements.
Review, analyzes, and evaluates staff actions and tasks and activities of the organization through correspondence, reports and briefings, and recommends or directs, necessary actions.
Provide authoritative advice and recommendations in situations where guidelines and procedures do not exist and where there are differences of opinion and approaches among organization stakeholders.
Analyze and interprets broad directives prescribed by higher authority; devises ways and means to implement regulatory measures of these directives, as well as devising new and improved methodology applicable to the specific needs of the agency.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Requires up to 10% travel.
- One-year supervisory probationary period may be required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
