This position is located in the office of the Regional Administrator, Wage and Hour Division (WHD), Southwest Region. This position serves as a senior administrative staff analyst, evaluator, and advisor to the Regional Administrator, Regional Operations Manager, and District Directors regarding administrative and personnel matters.
This is not a remote or virtual position - physically reporting to the office is a requirement.
Duties
The responsibilities described below are for the full-performance level (GS-13). At the GS-12 grade level, duties are similar but will be performed under closer than normal supervision. As the employee progresses, the assignments will become more difficult and complex in preparation to fully perform the duties at the next grade level.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
- Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
- A valid Driver's License is required.

You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for Management and Program Analyst, as described below.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
For GS-12: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-11 in the Federal Service.
Qualifying specialized experience for GS-12 includes:
Assisting in analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative support activities such as, personnel/property/financial management.
Assisting in conducting reviews, studies, evaluations, or audits of administrative operations and work processes to identify issues and make recommendations for improvement.
Preparing reports for recommendations to management.
For GS-13: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-12 in the Federal Service.
Qualifying specialized experience for GS-13 includes:
Applying qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze and measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative support activities such as, personnel/property/financial management.
Conducting reviews/studies/evaluations/audits of administrative operations and work processes to identify issues and make recommendations for improvement.
Preparing analytical reports and present findings and recommendations to management.
Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements of time-in-grade (52 weeks at the next lower grade), time-after-competitive-appointment (90 days), and minimum qualifications (52 weeks equivalent to the next lower grade in federal service). These requirements must be met within 30 days of 10/30/2023, the announcement closing date.
Time-In-Grade requirements are as follows:
Time in grade requirement for the GS-12 grade level - 52 weeks of Federal service at the GS-11 grade level.
Time in grade requirement for GS-13 grade level - 52 weeks of Federal service at the GS-12 grade level.
Education
There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-12 or GS-13 grade level.
