Qualifications
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as providing leadership for, oversight of, or technical expertise in at least two of the following areas: budget and financial management, human resources and personnel management, information technology, and general policy and legislative coordination; establishing and monitoring performance measures to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, and progress of a team; coaching, mentoring, or leading others.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of analytical methods and techniques required to assess and improve the effectiveness of programs.
Skill in providing advice, counsel, and instruction to staff.
Skill in oral communication.
Skill in written communication.
Skill in advising decisions regarding programs, projects and resources consistent with Agency and organizational unit's goals and priorities.
Skill in establishing and monitoring performance measures to assess the effectiveness, efficiency, and progress of a team.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of subordinate organizational units.
Ability to set and adjust short-term priorities.
Ability to mentor, motivate, and appraise staff.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
