You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the TEST & EVALUATION MANAGEMENT DIVISION, COMBAT SYSTEMS TEST & EVALUATION DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA or Mayport, FL.

Duties

You will provide engineering technical services involved with the execution of work assignments pertaining to significant tasks within complex project oriented in-service engineering services in U.S. and allied ships and shore facilities. You will provide on-site technical expertise to include problem identification and resolution as well as instruction in performance of maintenance or installation procedures. You will conduct research and comprehensive design studies into development acquisition and in-service engineering for assigned equipment. You will prepare, review, and modify technical documentation relative to all phases of lifetime support. You will provide technical guidance for procurement actions to include generation or review of procurement documentation and specifications for the entire system or any portion thereof. You will provide evaluation of and solution to fleet problems to include reviewing problems reported in messages, CASREPs, Feedback Reports or DCAPs and developing solutions and evaluating the corrective action to the reported problems.

Qualifications

For the GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical services by applying electronic engineering principles to provide on-site technical expertise for a ship combat or weapon systems Test and Evaluation program. For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying electronic engineering principles to provide technical assistance for a ship combat or weapon systems Test and Evaluation program.
