This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Chie Counsel (CC), Administrative Support Unit (CCX). This position(s) primary purpose will support Chief Counsel and Section Chiefs to include but not limited to, administrative, financial, audits, policies and procedures supporting the Office of Chief Counsel.

As a typical work assignments may include: Develop efficient records management and reporting systems. Plan and schedule work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution. Operational support for staff personnel (i.e., document requests, case file management, on-boarding); and enhance operations using data metrics that highlight key performance indicators for the organization and its personnel. Provide necessary direction, instructions and guidance to the staff.

Qualifications

For GS 14 You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 Federal grade level performing the following duties; 1) Explaining various Human Resources technical matters to organizational and subordinate employees; 2) Serving as an organizational expert on budget and financial management issues; 3) Ensuring allocated funds support department and agency operational objectives; 4) Developing and maintaining an efficient records management system; and 5) Reviewing agency documents for accuracy and completeness. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience for this position includes: Competencies: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competencies in the following areas: Budget AdministrationDecision MakingLeadershipProject Management Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-14 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-13. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
