The primary purpose of this position is to provide Strategic Architecture and Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) analysis. This Sr. Architecture position will oversee and produce as needed warfighter domain architectures which fully address joint and coalition mission threads to include operational facilities, tasks, billets, and processes.
Duties
Produce warfighter architectures. Develops the HQ USCENTCOM Enterprise Architecture (EA) to ensure efficient and effective IT capabilities are available to support command leadership and joint operations.
Reviews Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) documentation. Coordinates with Joint Staff and OSD regarding JCIDS documentation and associated functional analysis, concept documents and architectures.
Determine recommended architectural, IT or process solutions. Conducts near-, mid-, and long-term enterprise C4 planning.
Process Strategic Architecture Division-level taskers in support of C4I Directorate taskings.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance
- Work may require periodic TDY travel (CONUS and OCONUS) aboard commercial and military aircraft; including hostile areas of operations
- Bachelor or higher degree in computer information systems or closely related discipline, or minimum of 5 years experience with EA development is desired. Completion of graduate level study in EA is highly desirable
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Appointee must sign a statement acknowledging the position occupied is a Testing Designated Position (TDP)
- As a mandatory requirement for employment, the incumbent is to refrain from the use of illegal drugs and if requested, submit to urinalysis testing
- Incumbent is considered "Mission Essential" and subject to recall during off-shift hours seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day
- This position may be designated mission essential based on local conditions. Mission essential personnel report for duty at normal times when the base is closed or delayed reporting, and remain on duty during phased or early release.

Experience: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving AND one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12 (or equivalent in other pay systems) which includes working with a wide range of communication concepts and complex interfaces, policies, and practices; Architectural Frameworks requirements and its application in the development of major communications architectures; standard architectural development tools for current and target architectures; structure decision analysis methodology to select the best candidate solutions for future integration.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a wide range of DODAF architecture development principles, concepts, and methods. Knowledge of warfighting structures and processes to prepare persuasive recommendations/proposals.
Knowledge of combatant command's policy's and planning formulation process along with its mission and objectives to prepare architecture work products and plans.
Knowledge of system testing methods, integration techniques and Doctrine, Organization, Training, Material, Leadership and education, Personnel and Facilities (DOTMLPF) support concepts.
Ability to analyze complexities of existing technology, review/revise/develop policy, initiate plans for enhancements, and provide management technical information through written documentation and oral briefings, to render informed judgements.
Skill in maintaining current awareness of technological advances and incorporating into the JCIDS process.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
