You will serve as a OPERATIONAL ANALYST in the MARINE CORPS FORCES PACIFIC of MARINE FORCES PACIFIC.
Duties
You will prepare strategic synopses of findings and brief senior staff and General Officers on recommendations and areas for additional study,
You will advise decision makers of specific issues involving interrelationships of complex issues and organizational functions in terms of mission accomplishment and performance measures.
You will provide decision makers with sound, scientific, and quantitative information as a basis for making decisions.
You will participate in and/or lead working groups in development of command programs and initiatives focusing on increasing the effective and efficient use of resources (both fiscal and human) through management actions.
You will research and investigate new or improved business and management practices for application to operational programs or other staff operations.
You will provide competitive analysis of command issues focused on alternative ways of thinking about complex issues and providing the perspective of enemies, rivals, or other stakeholders.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You may be required regular Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) travel CONUS and/or OCONUS.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: As the Capabilities Analyst you will be the subject matter expert on military operational analysis, including methodology, processes, and data collection, by analyzing complex systems and problems from different perspectives to aid in decision making using models of theory for strengths and vulnerabilities; apply advanced techniques at tactical strategic level to explore alternatives and develop products supporting command decision making and operational execution; and design and develop recommendations to leadership questions on effectiveness of initiatives.

Physical Demands:
The international and high level visibility of the work places physical and psychological demands on the incumbent. You may be required to work Crisis action operations which requires long hours of concentrated effort, sometimes short notice at night and on weekends. Travel to foreign areas can include being exposure to demanding, compressed itineraries.
