The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC)/Expeditionary Support Division Deputy Chief fully sharing with the Chief directing all phases of the organization's program and work.
Duties
Works with the Division Chief in planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the Expeditionary Support Division.
Participates with the Division Chief in the exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents the Expeditionary Support Division with a variety of HAF, MAJCOM, USSF, AFIMSC and installation and functional area organizations.
As the Division's technical advisor, advises AFIMSC senior management and staff on all matters associated with the Center's expeditionary support capability for Agile Combat Support (ACS) forces.

- Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations. Incumbents must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not available
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have, or within 120 days will have, one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GS-13) or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience includes an extensive knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organization structure, management, and operation of large organizations to provide high level staff guidance and participate in the development of goals, objectives, and policies; knowledge of the relationships between commands and various US Government agencies and departments, supervising subordinate employees, setting and adjusting short and long-term priorities, prepares schedules, direction and advice regarding policies, and procedures; skilled in performing broad and complex studies and analyses across organizational and functional lines.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of DoD, Joint and Air Force doctrine, National Defense Strategy (NDS), operational planning
(OPLAN), Functional Area Manager (FAM), MAJCOM Functional Manager (MFM) manpower, manning, force
development programs, processes, principles, concepts and methodologies, goals and objectives, directives,
procedures, guidance and policy, strategic plans and strategic planning processes to develop short and long-range
guidance in accordance with broad DoD and USAF policies and objectives. Knowledge of Air Force Force
Generation (AFFORGEN), Joint Force Provider/Global Force Management, Joint Strategic Capabilities Plan (JSCP)
and DoD Global Force Management Allocation Plan (GFMAP) processes and development concept of operations.
Demonstrated experience in assessing requirements for Installation and Mission Support in-garrison and readiness
activities. Demonstrated ability to submit resource requirements for funding via the ACS, MAJCOM, USSF and Air
Force Corporate Structure processes.
2. Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of center, command, DoD,
and Air Force organizations to provide HAF, MAJCOM and USSF level staff guidance and/or conduct studies to
determine readiness, resourcing, reporting, manpower, manning, force development requirements for the global
Installation and Mission Support (I&MS) enterprise, consisting of HAF, eight MAJCOMs, two DRUs, USSF, 78
installations and 132K personnel AF-wide; skill and experience in identifying gaps in mission requirements,
identifying best practices and leveraging those best practices to improve program execution.
3. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to resolve issues or perform studies concerning
the effectiveness and efficiency of command readiness program operations and FAM, MFM, manpower, manning,
force development. Skill in coordinating extensive projects in assigned areas of responsibility. Projects are
characterized by high visibility, unusual urgency, or program criticality.
4. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work
operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available
resources.
5. Ability to analyze, plan, organize, direct the functions and adjust work operations of one or more organizational
segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources; mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; preparing briefings and/or presentations for senior
level staff and higher headquarters.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
