About the Position: The organizational location of this position is: 8th Theater Sustainment Command (8TSC), Distribution Mangement Center (DMC) Operational Contract Section (OCS) at Fort Shafter, HI.

Duties

Represent the Commander of the 8th Theater Sustainment Command (8TSC) through the Distribution Management Center (DMC) as the Logistics Operational Contract Support Planner (OCSP). Manage OCS / ACSA logistics contingency planning to support missions to meet command, Army, and Department of Defense (DoD) wide mission objectives. Integrate OCS / ACSA logistics planning into 8TSC and USARPAC's command plans across all staff elements, the Range of Military Operations and Joint Capability Areas. Provide OCS / ACSA lessons learned and best practices for use in Areas of Responsibility.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position occasionally requires the employee to travel away from the normal duty station (25%).
  • Employee must be willing and able to travel on military and/or commercial aircraft or by other mode of transportation to accomplish mission requirements.
  • Employee may be required to work overtime and in austere environments and conditions with partnered nations and sister services.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing input to Operational Plans (OPLANS); Integrating Logistics Capabilities into Time-Phased Force Deployment Lists (TPFDLs); preparing executive level decision briefings; and participate and lead multi-functional plans teams. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
