About the Position: This position is located at Lackland Air Force Base. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing a medical treatment facility, ensuring the facility is safe, accessible, and functionally reliable. The position will ensure the facility complies with any relative codes, standards, and regulations.
Duties
Monitor work orders for completion within established timeframes.
Advise on equipment replacements based on anticipated asset longevity.
Develop plans and/or specifications for modifications to existing facilities.
Oversee ongoing construction or maintenance through project completion.
Enter data into systems to document maintenance.
Evaluate building or facility to identify deficiencies.
Conduct on-site inspections of projects with contractors or construction team.
Review proposals against project parameters to identify discrepancies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Up to 5% Business Travel required.
- This position may require the incumbent to work weekends and/or holidays.
- This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) inspecting facilities or grounds to identify issues; 2) initiating work requests for maintenance or repairs; 3) and assisting with the coordination of work by in-house services or by contractor. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
