About the Position: This position will serve as a Supervisory Training Instructor (Master Gunner) with the 428th FA BDE, Fires Center of Excellence (FCoE) located at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The incumbent of this position will serve as a Senior Instructor and Chief for the Master Gunner Functional course.
Duties
Perform supervisory instructor duties with responsibility for revising Programs of Instructions (POI) and development of Master Gunner Training for 13B, 13F, 13J, 13M, and 13Rtraining across 428th FA Brigade.
Collect and analyze technical materials and training requirements, to include training objectives, skill levels, program of instruction, and job analyses, to produce a variety of instructional materials which provide a clear presentation.
Exercise technical and administrative supervision over military training instructors. Plan training preparation and execution by subordinates, sets and adjusts training priorities, and approves schedules of instructors conducting training.
Coordinate with Senior Leaders and Field Artillery Center organizations to formulate responses that provide qualified solutions to action items.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete a pre-entry on duty physical examination and yearly thereafter.
- This position requires the incumbent to travel overnight away from home station (TDY) up to 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes the following: Develop programs of instruction (POI) pertaining to fire support training within a master gunner course; Analyze master gunner educational materials to ensure instructional techniques are effective and efficient; Provide technical advice to course writers and instructors teaching the fundamentals of troubleshooting on a variety of automated fire support equipment; and Perform duties as a senior, lead, or supervisory training instructor. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
