This position is located under the Office of Public and Governmental Affairs, Public Affairs Branch in Washington, District of Columbia.

Qualifications

To qualify for 13, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12. Additional Conditions of Employment: GS-13 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties: Researching, writing, and editing speeches, briefings, articles, publications, reports and other materials; and Communicating to diverse audiences, applying the appropriate tone, voice and writing style, using industry standards such as the Elements of Style and the Associated Press Stylebook; and Providing communications advice and performing editorial reviews of sensitive material for high-level officials; and Reviewing and finalizing written products for clarity, accuracy, appropriateness for audience, grammar, and consistency. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. A writing sample may be requested at the time of interview. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level .
