Duties
You will prepare communications materials such as speeches, testimony, talking points, articles for publication,
conference presentations, executive summaries, and multi-media presentations.
You will perform research and write submissions to organize, balance and apply the appropriate tone as well as a
consistent sense of style, grammar and flow to the finished product.
You will gather historical and statistical data for preparation of oral and written communications based on the audience and strategic messages and
themes.
You will independently arrange work priorities and define the extent of work required during development.
You will provide comprehensive editorial and production support required for hardcopy and electronic publication.
You will develop designs, tables, figures or charts to depict material data when judged necessary to support conclusions.
You will monitor current events and determine potential impacts to DoD/DON missions, operations, and polices and be prepared to assess, define, prioritize, and
interpret inputs to best communicate with target audiences.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience preparing communication materials such as speeches, testimony, talking points, articles for publication, conference publications, conference presentations, multi-media presentations to include script writing and related communications media.
Experience performing research and written submissions to create a finished project based on the audience and theme.
Experience assembling and writing sensitive, critical and complex information for diverse audiences such as but not limited to, Congress, the Department of Defense, senior members of military, state and local officials, private sector executives, academia and international leaders.
