Duties
You will provide software programming support to the Surface Ship Undersea Warfare (USW) Fire Control program.
You will recommend and implement methods to develop emergent weapons and command software technologies.
You will provide budgeting, scheduling, and coordination input to USW Programmatic leadership as it pertains to software products.
You will track and report the status of USW software projects.
You will develop and write/code new (or modify existing) computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs following software assurance best practices.
You will analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan the development of a new application or modification of an existing application.
You will analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
You will confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design application and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
You will compile and write documentation of program development and subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instructions so others can understand the program.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for framework role 621, level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
In addtion to the Basic Requirements for the position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional Computer Scientist managing or leading the design, development, integration or testing of software for warfare systems.

Education
FOR THE 1550 - Computer Science Series: A degree in computer science or degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours were in a combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
