You will serve as a LEAD FIREFIGHTER (BLS/HAZMAT TECHNICIAN) in the FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES division of COMMANDER NAVY REGION MARIANAS.
Duties
You will serve as firefighter as a member of a firefighting crew for one or more firefighting apparatus, Emergency Medical Service (EMS) BLS National Registry EMT, and hazardous materials Technician.
You will be responsible for operating a wide variety of firefighting equipment.
You will be responsible for responding to fires and hazardous material incidents.
You will perform pre-fire planning by physically going through structures to become familiar with the layout, fire hazards, and location of fixed fire protection systems.
You will lead a crew of firefighters assigned to staff a pumper or aerial ladder truck in firefighting and rescue operations.
You will resolve simple informal complaints, referring the more serious problems to the supervisor; inform supervisor on performance, progress, and training needs of crew members, and disciplinary problems.
You will participate in controlling and extinguishing fires by operating hoses, ladders, and hydrants.

- This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.

- You are required to possess and maintain current certifications as FIREFIGHTER II, FIRE INSTRUCTOR I, FIRE OFFICER I, FIRE INSPECTOR I, HAZMAT TECHNICIAN, STATE or NATIONAL EMT/B, and BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) PROVIDER.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing structural firefighting and rescue operations, assisting in reducing and/or eliminating potential fire hazards; AND providing technical assistance to subordinates in fire suppression/protection for structures.
