You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/SYSADMIN) in the Weapons Control & Integration Department of NAVSURFWARCENDLD. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $145,617).

Duties

You will serve as the Information Technology Cyber Security Specialist (INFOSEC) and Information Assurance Technical II (IAT II) for the Weapons Control and Integration Department and associated customers. You will provide Systems Administration (SYSADMIN) functions to manage resources and accounts, resolve hardware and software interface and interoperability problems, and manage system fixes and updates. You will develop specifications for acquisition of computer hardware and services. You will conduct projects/studies/evaluations concerning the integration of systems of computer programs and/or computer equipment. You will make recommendations through reports that outline study methodology and possible alternative solutions.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 451, Level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assessing security controls and oversee the validation of Information Technology (IT) systems to ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
