Duties
Serve as Budget Analyst for a complex, regional multi-million dollar program.
Provide oversight and guidance to lower graded analysts in the work assigned determining work schedules and priorities
Coordinate the budgeting of assigned programs.
Formulate annual and multi-year budget estimates, requests supplemental appropriations, and reprograms allotments to finance program changes.
Exercise control and surveillance over funding matters to assure successful attainment of stated program objectives.
Plan, direct, and execute actions required to formulate, develop, coordinate and implement policies governing the designated funding appropriation.
Maintain records of funding, obligations and expenditures for assigned programs.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires that you complete the FMC02 - Financial Management Certification Level 2 within 24 months of appointment.

Specialized Experience GS-11: one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes maintaining records of funding, obligations, and expenditures for assigned projects through financial management software.OR have successfully completed a Ph. D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as business management, public management, financial management, accounting, etc.
Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining records of funding, obligations and expenditures for assigned projects through financial management software.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement for GS-11: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Time in Grade Requirement for GS-12: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
