You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center San Diego.

Duties
You will serve as the Afloat HAZMAT Officer with responsibility of overseeing the area's command-wide HMC and M program requirements
You will supervise a team of civilian and active duty military supply specialists with responsibility for directing, managing, and coordinating all functions of HMC and M afloat operations.
You will perform continuing assignments, preparing recurring and special reports, supporting HMC and M oversight, and working with other commands and areas of the FLC
You will serve as the HAZMAT Officer for Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) and DDG 1000 class platforms.
You will directly oversee and control all detailed day-to-day aspects (planning, directing, leading, and coordinating) for Afloat HMC and M program, to include all Ship-to-Shore/distance support interfaces
You will identify and/or develop processes for control of HAZMAT usage, storage and procurement
You will represent the Afloat HMC and M program during INSURV/SMC afloat audits
You will perform related budget/financial duties, developing and utilizing management reports to determine HAZMAT control efficiencies and accuracy of data entry into HAZMAT inventory control databases

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision
- You "may" be coded as "key" and as such may be required be removed from their military recall status. A signed statement of understanding required.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the federal service, or equivalent experience in the private or public sector using knowledge of Hazardous Materials Management to perform the following:
1) Managing or directing HAZMAT processes such as offloads, onloads, inventory management, and audits
2) Managing types of HAZMAT stored on ships/submarines and/or used in maritime applications
3) Using knowledge of governing laws, regulations, procedures, and instructions applicable to HAZMAT to manage a Hazardous Material Management program
4) Performing or assisting in budgetary/financial duties and monitoring the status of funds
5) Planning, analyzing and evaluating effectiveness of work efforts and/or programs related to HAZMAT Management and Control
6) Providing direction guidance, and/or supervision of junior graded personnel on matters of HAZMAT Management and Control
