You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Corporate Business & Analysis Group, Security Dept of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.
Duties
You will provide program protection in the interest of national security.
You will develop OPSEC, Information Systems/Computer policies and procedures.
You will implement policies, instructions, procedures, control systems, and methods to prevent the loss and/or compromise of classified information or material in a special access program (SAP).
You will operate as an effective team member within the Navy/DoD structure, understand and apply ethical standards in relationships.
You will coordinate with Department, Program, or Competency Local Element (LE) managers to ensure all COMSEC equipment is properly handled, safeguarded, and stored IAW COMSEC regulatory requirements and policies.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position requires travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09/10) or pay band (DA-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of a Security Specialist. Specialized experiences must include some or all of the following: 1) Advising leadership on DoD Information Security procedures, policy guidelines and regulations for security management of programs, personnel and resources; 2) Interpreting and applying security concepts, principles and practices to review, analyze and resolve difficult and complex security problems; 3) Applying knowledge of DoD Information and Personnel Security program regulations and Physical Security manuals; 4) Demonstrating experience initiating and administering sensitive projects, testing and security operations; 5)Demonstrating experience working with Automated Information Systems (AIS) security equipment, programs, alarm systems, entry control systems and intrusion detection systems; 6) Demonstrating proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat.

Education
Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
Possession of an LL.M. that is related to this position being filled
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
