This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic DIB & MRTFB in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is within the PRODUCTION ENGINEERING DIVISION at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

Duties

Train employees on procedures and methods of assigned work. Modify test devices and trade techniques on electronic equipment and systems. Use theoretical concept of resolutions for unforeseen problems. Monitor employee's skills and use of hand and power tools. Assist in solving installation, operating, and repair problems on electronic equipment. Assist with solutions to operate and repair problems on electronic equipment.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) from a government provided source.
  • This position requires a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) certification.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to posses a valid government motor vehicle operator's permit.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter,

Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANIC LEADER ~ without more than normal supervision. - I can lead employees in repairing, maintaining, inspecting, testing, and performing preventative maintenance on electronic equipment and systems in an industrial environment; assisting with work schedules, cross training, production reports, and solutions to electronic equipment and systems; reviewing employees completed work; and giving direction to others pertaining to electronic control maintenance duties. I Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work assignments require moderate physical effort. Employees frequently lift, carry or otherwise handle items weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally they handle items greater than 40 pounds. Assistance is usually available with heavy items. They work in position for extended periods. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping is required. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is usually performed inside well-lighted, heated, and ventilated areas. When equipment is fixed in place, it is sometimes necessary to work in warehouses or industrial areas exposed to loud noises, heat or cold, fumes etc. Employees are subject to injuries, such as electric shock, cuts and bruises, as well as burns caused by electrical energy or soldering irons.
