This position is located in the Contracts and Risk Management Unit, Legal Division. The incumbent serves as a paralegal specialist to managers, attorneys, and support staff within the Legal Division in connection with FDIC legal matters such as hearings, appeals, litigation, advisory services, regulations, and/or policy formulation.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.  Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG 07- To qualify, Applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-05 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience drafting a variety of legal documents and correspondence; verifying citations and statutory references contained in legal documents; and utilizing various computerized database programs to organize documents. OREducation: 1 year of graduate-level education or superior academic achievement Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school graduate education as described above, and specialized experience described, that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
