About the Position: Serve as the Headquarters, Office of the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army (OAA), Diversity and Equal Employment Opportunity directorate (DEEO), Disability Program Manager (DPM) for individuals with disabilities and reports directly to the Chief, Programs and Policy Division.

Duties

Maintain an understanding of the employment problems, constituencies laws and special guidance pertaining to issues of disability and reasonable accommodation. Review issues involved in EEO complaints to identify substantive matters reflecting patterns or practice, supervisory attitudes, or other problem areas that result in denial of equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities. Analyze employment situations and specific employment problems relating to individuals with disabilities to develop corrective action plans. Develop corrective action plans to correct deficiencies and/or barriers in the individuals with disabilities program. Manage a reasonable accommodation program through tasks such as updating the Reasonable Accommodation Tracker, recommending effective accommodations, conducting training, and advising managers and employees. Lead a Reasonable Accommodation Committee (RAC) and provide technical oversight and support to personnel responsible for acting on reasonable accommodation requests.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance for duration of employment.
  • This position may require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes consulting with managers to identify reasonable accommodation barriers of affected groups; developing reasonable accommodation plans for equal employment opportunities for persons with disabilities; managing the Reasonable Accommodation Program (RAP) through appropriate resources such as Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP), Computer Assistance Program (CAP), Job Accommodation Network (JAN), and/or Disability Program Manager (DPM); and analyzing civilian labor force/employment statistical data to evaluate affirmative employment progress. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
