You will serve as an AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN TRAINING LEADER in the Training Branch of the Human Capital management Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Duty Station: San Diego, CA
Duties
You will instruct apprentices, trainees, journeymen, workers, military personnel and others in trade theory, techniques and practices.
You will conduct training sessions designed to update, improve, and upgrade the knowledge and skills of others by selecting, modifying, and using various instructional methods and techniques.
You will evaluate the progress of workers in terms of such factors as interest, cooperation, assimilation of basic fundamentals and theory, and practical application of work methods.
You will keep progress reports and in conjunction with the shop supervisor evaluate the trainees progress, make recommendations for employee's training plan, progress or additional training as appropriate.

- Incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain soldering certification.
- The incumbent may be required to handle EKMS gear, which will include completion of an EKMS PQS (Personnel Qualified Standard), and annual/bi-annual training.
- Incumbent vision must meet near vision correctable at 14" to Jaeger 2, far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20. Must be able to distinguish color and shades of color. Eye protection is required in hazardous areas.
- Incumbent will be required to participate in a medical surveillance program for any medical stressor identified for this trade.

A) Have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including Performing the duties of the Aircraft Electrician journeyman and utilize knowledge to instruct artisans and other students in trade theory, techniques and practices, including the method of disassembly, repair, modifications, overhaul, assembly, testing, installation and maintenance of electrical systems, components, equipment and accessories repaired at the depot level; Instruct/lead others in the proper procedures and methods of repair to determine depth of work, interpret and comply with complicated blueprints, technical manuals, instructions, bulletins and aircraft changes to incorporate modifications and repairs; Use various hand, power tools, test equipment and measuring instruments such as wire strippers, wire crimpers, soldering equipment, heat guns and equipment peculiar to the aircraft electrical trade; Use test equipment such as Automatic test equipment (ATE), oscilloscopes, multi-meters, meggers, phase meters, and frequency meters; Recognize types and sizes of resistors, capacitors, wiring, and transistors; follow proper safety precautions; knowledge of aircraft power supply equipment to the extent of connecting and applying power to aircraft. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
B) Have the ability to perform the full range of tasks including Performing the duties of the Aircraft Electrician journeyman, possess knowledge of the electrical theory, principles and circuity, aircraft electrical systems and their interrelationships; working knowledge of electronic principles; construction practices of electronic equipment in order to recognize types and sizes of resistors, capacitors, wiring and transistors; utilize skills and knowledge to instruct/lead others in the proper procedures and methods of repair to determine depth of work; Interpret and comply with complicated blueprints, technical manuals, instructions, bulletins and aircraft changes in order to incorporate modifications and repairs; Use various hand, power tools, test equipment and measuring instruments such as wire strippers, wire crimpers, soldering equipment, heat guns and equipment peculiar to the aircraft electrical trade; Use test equipment such as Automatic test equipment (ATE), oscilloscopes, multi-meters, meggers, phase meters, and frequency meters and other test equipment specific to the trade. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
C) Have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including Performing disassembly, repair, modification, overhaul, assembly, testing, installation and maintenance of electrical systems, components, equipment and accessories; apply knowledge electrical theory, principles, and circuity; recognize types and sizes of resistors, capacitors, wiring, and transistors; interpret and comply with blueprints, technical manuals, instructions, bulletins and aircraft changes to incorporate modifications and repairs; use various hand, power tools, test equipment, measuring instruments such as wire strippers, wire crimpers, soldering equipment, heat guns as well as other tools and equipment peculiar to the aircraft electrical trade.
