You will serve as an Aircraft Examiner (Aircraft Electrician) in the in the MRO Production Department, Production Lines Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will perform progressive static and dynamic examination and evaluation of assigned Type/Model/Series aircraft electrical systems. You will create job order specifications and determine what type and amount of materials will be required. You will prepare costs and time estimates in support of assigned project/program and from engineering drawings (electrical, mechanical and structural) with labor estimates. You will ensure products are reworked within technical specifications and meet negotiated labor and material requirements. You will conduct formal training and on the job training to other employees in support of program goals and objective. You will assign tasks to immediate workers, relay supervisor's instructions, and provide guidance to workers on methods and procedures. You will accomplish other duties as assigned.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to comply with health, safety, and environmental instructions and policies as well as all agency policies and procedures.
  • This position requires lifting and carrying objects up to 35 pounds. Any weight lifted in excess of 35 pounds will not be attempted unaided.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO PROVIDE PRODUCTION SERVICES, and includesthe following: 1) Examine the condition of aircraft and components; 2) Interpret blueprints, specifications and technical directives; and 3) Disassemble aircraft electrical components for repair. You work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
