About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization & Security - Current Operations, Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville.

Duties

Conduct an analysis to determine if the unit have developed or are developing problems within a measured resourced area affecting attainment of readiness gates in readiness impacts resulting from implementation of the command relationships. Responsible for the continuing development and upgrade procedures for Unit Status Reporting (USR) analysis system for the command. Maintains the database for the Command, monitors and makes staff recommendations on readiness issues. Utilize Task Management Tool (TMT) and email to create tasks for OPORDS/FRAGOs/TASKORDs. Represents the installation and command in actions involving unit readiness and deployment needs. Conduct classified and unclassified briefings that encourage understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations for the command.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Performs occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work to assist in the timely production of Unit Status Reporting (USR) and readiness activities.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assist with studies and/or special projects involving unit readiness analysis; 2) Prepare status reports for accurate reporting of information for unit readiness such as Operation orders (OPORDS) Fragmentation orders (FRAGOs), Task orders (TASKORDs), etc.; AND 3) Conducts briefings to staff members relative to equipment, property and/or material readiness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision MakingOral CommunicationOrganizational Performance Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. NOTE: To support the Advancement requirement you MUST submit a copy of your latest non-award SF-50 that reflects your highest grade held on a permanent basis along with your application/resume package. You must meet the one year time-in-grade requirement so you will need to provide an SF-50 which clearly demonstrates you meet the time-in-grade requirements. Failure to do so may affect your rating or consideration for employment.
