About the Position: Serves as Financial Management Analyst with the US Army Installation Management Command HQ, G8 Resource Management Directorate, Financial Operations Division located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Serves as a Financial Management Analyst, applying Resource Management (RM) principles and practices in order to perform a wide variety of complex financial management and accounting system functions.
Applies knowledge of accounting and financial management practices, methods and procedures in the review and analysis of regulations, laws, directives, ledgers, journals, accounts cost data and related transactions and functions.
Responsible for analysis and reconciliation of installation or command-level financial reports, resolving problems, and implementing policies and requirements.
Performs professional analysis and interpretation of financial statements and reports. Provides overall guidance and assistance relative to the financial operations of the Command.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army certification requirements within 2 years of appointment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includesexperience utilizing accounting and financial management practices, methods and procedures to resolve problems arising from the implementation of new systems, identifying deficiencies in existing systems, and developing new locally automated systems within the resource management area of responsibility; experience conducting studies of procedures, methods, workflow and functions to determine changes needed in existing automated accounting systems; experience applying, revising, improving and adjusting financial systems to eliminate problems; AND use of processing cycles and techniques within various automated systems required to process and trace transactions, analyze need for adjustments, and assure completion of corrective actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
