This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in an organizational element of Power and Operations Planning (PGP), Generation Asset Management. (PG), Power Services (P), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).
Duties
As a Operations Research Analyst, you will:
Plan and carry out complete operations research assignments that involve initiating, applying, and planning major developmental studies.
Serve as a consultant and technical advisor to senior subject matter specialists and/or BPA and agency officials responsible for broad program operations.
Provide significant and innovative recommendations for advancing programs and/or methods.
Evaluate the data resulting from applying mathematical or statistical tools, models, methods, and techniques.
Use new analytical developments and modified processes to resolve novel or obscure problems that affect broad program operations.
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience applying professional scientific or complex mathematical and statistical principles for the purpose of planning, coordinating, and executing complex studies and analyses in hydraulic operations.
