This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in Long Term Power Planning (PGPR) organization of Power and Operations Planning (PGP), Generation Asset Management (PG), Power Services (P). A successful candidate in the Operations Research Analyst position will serve as a lead responsible for analytical work involving designing and applying mathematical, econometric, and other scientific methods and techniques to model and track expected and potential hydro energy and capacity.

BASIC REQUIREMENT: Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-13, in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:1) Conducts analytical investigations using advanced scientific and/or mathematical methodology and problem solving; 2) Plans, organizes, and conducts/leads extremely complex technical analyses; and 3) Provides significant and innovative recommendations for advancing programs and/or methods.
