This position is located in Generation Support (PGST), Generation Scheduling (PGS), Power Services (P), Bonneville Power Administration. The purpose of this position is to serve as the supervisor of the PGST organization, supervising 8-10 professional and administrative positions engaged in providing technical support on issues of concern to Generation Scheduling and Generation Supply.

  • Selectee will be required to complete the Office of Government Ethics Standard of Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OFGE450e) within 30 days of employment and annually.
  • First time supervisors will be required to serve a 1 year probationary period
  • This position has been designated as requiring a PUBLIC TRUST background. A preliminary background check must be completed before a new employee can begin work.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT: Degree in Operations Research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [enter grade] in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: 1) Collaborating on cross-agency teams that define future state of operational tools to be used in Generation Scheduling operational groups; 2) Reporting on operational events; 3) Assessing lessons learned relative to hydroelectric project operations; 4) Representing the technical requirements of managing hydroelectric power for development of generation control practices and algorithms. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration.
