This position is located at the VA Illiana Healthcare System, Danville IL. and is organizationally
aligned under the program office of Clinical Informatics. The primary purpose of this position is to
perform clerical and liaison support for all facets of the Informatics Service. To provide administrative,
collaborative, & programmatic level support with all other employees of the Informatics Service Line.
Duties
Communication and interpersonal relations, including the ability to appropriately and courteously relate to internal and external customers.
Maintenance of confidentiality of patient/employee information, electronic and print.
The medical center performance improvement program.
How to work and function in the medical center in a safe manner, including infection control and the correct operation of equipment.
Serves as primary timekeeper for service and trains alternates as necessary
Keeps appointment calendar for the Chief, Informatics in order to schedule his/her time
Maintains databases to accurately reflect status of organizational charts and employee staffing,
Inputs and retrieves data, prepares analyses and presents recommendations to supervisor
Knowledge of various software systems
Skill in communicating both orally and in writing
Manages Equipment Inventory List (EIL)
Records Liaison Officer
Work Schedule: 7:30am to 4:00pm

Qualifications

GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Administrative programmatic support, Clinical Informatics Service Line, manage equipment inventory list (EIL), develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), support variety of projects, maintains databases, process employee gains, losses and details, collaborates with managers, primary timekeeper, Prepares/monitors personnel record/request actions establishes and maintains filing system for records related to employees, Inputs and retrieves data, prepares analyses and presents recommendations to supervisor.
Proficiency Requirement: Type 40 words per minute.
There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.
