Duties

Serve as a Staff Operations and Training Specialist in an Army Reserve Brigade or equivalent sized unit. Provide technical guidance to subordinate elements, higher headquarters, and general staff members on mobilization training plans. Conduct training for the command and subordinate unit personnel on the use of Army Training Requirements Reporting System (ATRRS). Formulate guidance and participate in conducting mobilization workshops for subordinate units in support of their mobilization mission. Develop standard training policies and procedures to meet the Command training needs. Prepare mobilization training documents for publication. Analyze policy and guidance pertaining to training objectives and determine training needs for the Command. Conduct staff assistance visits and inspections to subordinate units to ensure data contained in the unit mobilization file is complete and accurate.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: issuing policy and guidance on training; conducting staff assistance visits and inspections to ensure units are fully informed of and comply with directives and procedures; reviewing inspections and reports to evaluate training readiness; providing input to the budget for training operations; and conducting training on the use of automated training systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Organizational Management and Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, and Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
