Serves as staff on and operation of the regional labor and employee relations programs for the Alaskan Region. Incumbent is responsible for the full range of employee relations and labor relations programs under the minimal direction of a manager or more experienced professional.
Duties
The incumbent researches and produces a wide range of original prepared documents, including legal briefs and other advocacy materials. May act as a contributing specialist on large work activities or as a project manager or team leader for large projects/ programs/activities. Serves as technical authority and provides counsel and assistance to management about union/management relations and grievances, as well as disciplinary, performance-based and other adverse actions; recommends appropriate actions and alternatives; provides counsel and assistance to management and employees on all matters arising under the Agency's Accountability Board program.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Must Submit DD214 for EVHO (See Required Documents)
Qualifications
Qualification: You must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H (FG-12). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience: Experience as a Human Resources professional, attorney with experience in the area of personnel law, or union representative evaluating and resolves human relations, labor relations, and work-related problems. Experience interpreting and explaining LER policies to employees and management on governmental rules, regulations, and procedures, and the need for compliance.Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.Telework is at the discretion of the manager.This position is covered by the FAA Core Compensation plan.Applicants may be required to submit writing sample.
