The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a training administrator in support of the graduate degree and professional continuing education programs.
Duties
Performs training administration taskings in support of an advanced educational department, as directed by the department head.
Supports the department's ongoing assessment of degree programs and courses within the department.
Departmental lead for the review and submission of student theses, dissertations, and project reports to the Graduate School in partial fulfillment of program degree requirements.
Provides input to the Department's accreditation and assessment processes.
Works with the Department Head and other department staff and faculty to form an effective management team for the department.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include providing academic administrative support and faculty administration; designing and analyzing course assessment tools and data; assisting in the collection, compiling, preparation, and presentation of data to provide recommendations for education and training activities; and serving as a training administrator to process transactions for degree programs, collecting and processing student feedback on courses and program, and tracking faculty, staff, guest speakers, and students in support of the academic mission. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and practices of graduate-level training administration.
2. Knowledge of engineering and computer science accreditation standards and the ability to apply them to program assessment activities.
3. Ability to plan and organize work.
4. Ability to adapt to new or evolving work requirements.
5. Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gathers pertinent data, and formulates solutions.
6. Ability to plan and organize work, and consult effectively with co-workers.
7. Skilled ability to communicate: in writing and orally to individuals and to groups in a classroom seminar setting.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
