About the Position: This position is with the 1st Theater Sustainment Command, Fort Knox, KY. Provides administrative and policy direction in terms of broadly defined missions and functions and makes assignments in consultation with the incumbent by discussing goals, priorities, funding, etc. Conduct investigations and interviews resulting from complaints from Soldiers, Family Members, DA Civilians, contractors, and retirees.

Duties

Perform long-range planning and analysis for IG inspections. Conduct and participate in on-site systematic and follow-up inspections. Develop and write inspection plans to conduct assistance and investigative alone and as a team member. Receive cases, conduct preliminary analysis, and determine case disposition.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the requirement has been previously met.
  • Employee must pass a medical examination and receive required immunizations for the overseas/deployed location.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the following: (1) must be a citizen of the US by birth or naturalization.
  • (2) must have and be able to maintain moral attributes and personal traits that demonstrate adherence to Army Values, the Warrior Ethos, and the Army Civilian Corps Creed.
  • (3) must have no record of criminal punishment except for minor offenses or derogatory information contained in IG records as screened by the US Army Inspector General Agency (USAIGA); and
  • (4) must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Secret security clearance. Failure to do so will serve as grounds for revocation of IG certification, credentials, and possibly termination from government service.
  • Position requires TDY travel up to 50% in austere CENTCOM AOR.
  • Applicants referred for consideration will be subject to a database check against the Army’s IGARS database to screen for substantiated and ongoing IG investigations.
  • This position is deployable; a pre-deployment physical is required upon deployment notification.

  • Must complete an IG records screen by the US Army Inspector General Agency. Are you willing to successfully complete an IG records screen?
  • Must successfully graduate from the US Army IG School; maintain certification in accordance with AR 20-1, and practice IG attributes for continued employment as an Army IG. Are you willing to successfully complete US Army IG School?
