You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NUCLEAR) in the Nuclear Production Quality Control Branch (300N.12) located under the Deputy Nuclear Manager (300N.1) for the Nuclear Production Manager (Code 300N) in the Production Resources Department (900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will ensure nuclear work is executed to the required standard, on time and within budget.
You will establish and manage a Quality Program that maintains required standards and improves performance.
ou will provide extensive technical and administrative supervision to a staff responsible for developing, engineering, implementing and managing quality control programs for the Production Resources and Operations Department.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain qualification as a Radiation Worker.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience performing concepts, principles, and practices of nuclear engineering that enables the engineering technician to serve as the Production Resource Department's technical authority on shipyard nuclear production quality and also radiological controls and production techniques, associated with the repair, overhaul, refueling, decontamination, and operation of naval nuclear reactor plants.
Experience developing innovative approaches and resolutions to problems and situations encountered.
Experience continuously meeting goals, when emergent or changing programs/requirements are presented.
Experience resolving unique problems.
Experience utilizing knowledge related engineering fields such as mechanical and electrical.
Experience demonstrating functional responsibilities, department policies, and administrative constraints which impact the nuclear program is required.
