Duties
You will be responsible for engineering and maintenance of a nationwide, multi-level security data transport network.
You will perform a variety of functions on a wide range of information management (IM) and information technology (IT) issues.
You will have computer system administration responsibilities for Windows, Linux, and Solaris systems to ensure proper network performance.
You will prepare documentation and network maps and present reports.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to the above experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DS-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Configuring, installing, and maintaining a security data transport network (to include workstations, servers, routers, switches, and encryptors); 2) Preforming computer system administration responsibilities for Linux, Windows and/or Solaris systems; 3) Maintaining cryptographic devices, including rekeying and general maintenance of devices; 4) Applying cybersecurity polices, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services; 5) Familiarity with configuration management procedures.
