About the Position: About the Position: This position is located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. A Master's Degree is preferred by management, but not required. 5 years experience preferred by management, but not required.

Duties

Identify, develop, and coordinate Radiologic Technologist (ASRT)curriculum requirements and maintain programmatic accreditation. Responsible for integrating Radiography Program training development products and support of concepts, requirement documents, studies, mission area development plans, independent evaluation plans. Develop a detailed project management plan with definitive milestones and projected resource requirements. Conduct task analysis and/or oversees an analysis task force to incorporate Tri-service tasks into the MEDICAL E and T CAMPUS (METC) Curriculum Plan. Supervise and direct professional, technical and administrative personnel engaged in training and training development functions. Provide direction and quality control by providing guidance to the Dean, Department Chair, academic review, directing changes and serving as approval official for all graduating students applying for National Certification in Radiography.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
  • Must maintain current licensing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Radiology Training Program Director GS-1701-13: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as Radiography Radiologic Technology, or Medical Imaging. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as Radiography, Radiological Technology, or Medical Imaging, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described in A above. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: assisting in the development of Radiography training programs, advising on medical training requirements, and assessing training support products or materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education and TrainingInstructional Materials & Curriculum DevelopmentTeaching Others Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
