About the Position: Serve as the Logistics Management Specialist for Delta Company. As a staff advisor, develops and maintains aircraft maintenance and logistics deployment plans. Advises the Battalion Aviation Maintenance Officer (BAMO) and the commander on maintenance personnel management, supply, equipment, and facility assets to maintain and repair Army rotary wing aircraft.

Duties

Investigate, research, analyze, and resolves problems. Monitors subordinate activities and ensures supporting data is accurately depicted on the Unit Table of Distribution and Allowances. Aid in the planning of daily, weekly, and monthly objectives. Develop and execute maintenance plans that allow the unit to meet readiness goals set by DA regulation. Participate in planning and coordination of aircraft recovery operations. Respond to all levels of Battalion staff concerns regarding aviation sustainment and Logistics.

  • May be required to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and/or on-call duty hours.

  • This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. Must pass urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. Must sign DA Form 5019-R.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing and maintaining aircraft maintenance and logistics deployment plans; advising higher level management on aviation maintenance management, supply, equipment and facility assets to maintain and repair rotary wing aircraft; developing aviation maintenance instructions for the implementation of organization regulations, policies, and/or procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: such as Logistics Management, Materials Movement, Supply Chain and/or Property Management, and Management Information System. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer ResourcesMaintenance Planning and ManagementProduct Support ManagementSupply Support Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
