This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory return rights based on an overseas tour. You will be asked to sign an agreement acknowledging that you are aware of the obligation and willing to be displaced under reduction in force procedures upon the return of the former incumbent.
Duties
Brief organizational leadership informing them of program effectiveness and productivity.
Prepare and update charts of statistics analysis for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in a timely manner for management utilizing Excel and Work programs.
Develop training courses for Unit Prevention Leaders to ensure adherence to all regulations and policies.
Spot check samples to ensure they are packaged in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Provide training on receiving and collecting samples in order to prepare for shipment.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent will be certified by the DA DTC Certification Course within 9 months of assuming the duties. Failure to obtain certification or failure to maintain certification may result in administrative actions and removal from the position.
- Temporary Duty travel (TDY) may be required up to 5%.
- This is an obligated position.
Qualifications
TEMPORARY POSITION: If you are a current permanent Army employee, this position will be filled from employees eligible for temporary promotion or temporary reassignment. The position is temporary not to exceed one (1) year with provisions to extend in increments of up to one (1) year for a total of five (5) years. This position may be converted to permanent without further competition for current Army employees.
TERM POSITION: If you are not a current, permanent Army employee, this will be a Term appointment, not to exceed 13 months with provisions to extend up to 6 years and to be made permanent. Conversion to permanent is not guaranteed.
To be eligible for conversion to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment, you must have:
1. Completed at least 2 years of current, continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service.
2. Demonstrated successful job performance.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience:
Your resume must describe at least one year of experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, such as: Reviewing routine reports and identifying discrepancies, trends, or problems; Performing collection, packaging, shipping and tracking of specimens; Preparing clear and concise reports describing collection techniques; Safeguarding sensitive testing information; Maintaining current and accurate office and drug testing records. This experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
