About the Position: Serve as the Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement Support (MILES) Equipment Support Coordinator in the Training Division in the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobility & Security at Fort Bliss.
Duties
Coordinate use of MILES equipment with active and reserve military units, National Guard, and MILES personnel at other installations by resolving scheduling conflicts.
Serve as the MILES point of contact for the installation.
Update and maintain MILES database file and prepare related correspondence, reports, forms using office automation tools.
Monitor short and long term loan out of equipment to ensure timely return of equipment.
Maintain MILES equipment records and property receipts to ensure accountability of training equipment.
Verify condition of equipment on turn-in and initiate reports of survey for damaged and lost equipment.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assist in performing maintenance, repair, and operation of the Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System, OR Assist in performing maintenance, repair, and operation of integrated laser engagement systems; and (2) Coordinating with outside organizations for equipment services; and (3) Using automated systems to maintain equipment records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service).
