About the Position: Serves as an Action Officer for Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA) G-1 in Pentagon, Arlington, VA.
This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 6 years position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. This position cannot be made permanent.
Duties
Analyze programs to ensure regulatory compliance and efficiencies.
Examines the content of documents for clarity and length.
Ensure writing products are accurate and relevant.
Determine the level of complexity in writing/editing, identifies missing coordination.
Develop proposed policies and conducts review of existing policies regarding personnel management.
Assess whether technical matters can be clearly understood and determines whether findings support the recommendations and the overall conclusions of the document.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required 10% of the time.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Analyzes programs, directives, policies and/or operation plans to draw accurate conclusions leading to effective interpretations, recommendations and guidance to leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
