The primary purpose of this position is to provide significant technical management oversight to a team of non supervisory employees and to serve as the Suppression of Enemy Air Defense (SEAD) air to air missile technical expert and provide technical expertise for the Division
Duties
1. Assigned senior air-to-air missile/armament equipment technical management expert.
2. Assigned Division Technical Assistance: Provides technical assistance in resolving extremely complex system/equipment problems.
3. Provides technical and engineering support under Integrated Logistics Support(ILS) concepts to insure the system/programs being acquired and maintained are technically, economically, and logistically supportable.
4. Participates as a team member on IPT's and in working groups concerning processes related to specific disciplines within and outside the Division.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes researching, developing and discussing with air force engineering organizations about the technical responses for the field/intermediate/depot level technical maintenance requirements inquiries provided by the user. Ensuring completion of assigned projects/action items including those accomplished by contractors or other DOD activities through review of all documentation and daily interface with other divisions, technical, logistical and engineering personnel; providing Technical Assistance on Maintenance Requirements; Providing technical and engineering support under Configuration Management (CM) concepts to insure the maintenance requirements being implemented and maintained are technically, economically, and logistically supportable; Participating as a team member and in working groups concerning processes related to specific disciplines within and outside the Wing.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of difficult and complex maintenance assignments, concepts, principles, and practices of specific systems/equipment and the skill in applying oversight and guidance to the varied disciplines and assignments within the technical management arena.
2. Knowledge of and skill in business principles, practices, methods, and procedures.
3. Skill in identifying and analyzing complex technical problems and developing innovative solutions through hands on knowledge and use of technical laboratories.
4. Skill in providing technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership, engineers, program managers and maintenance technician.
5. Skill in developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and working cooperatively as a member of a team.
6. Skill in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data. \
7. Ability to plan, organize, and reprioritize work to meet changing deadlines.
8. Ability to develop and conduct training to ensure proper maintenance of assigned systems/equipment.
9. Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
