About the Position: Serves at the Army's Central Registry (ACR) under the direction of the Deputy Clinical Director, Family Advocacy Program (FAP), Behavioral Health Division (BHD), G-3/5/7, Headquarters Army Medical Command located in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Duties

Incumbent will translate the flow of data into meaningful informational products that can be used to make logical policy and public health decisions related to Army FAP. Evaluates methodologies, develops strategies to analyze data and coordinate data collection to ensure accurate depiction of data related to domestic abuse, violence and child maltreatment. Provide the assessment of risk and a thorough knowledge of methods, principles, and characteristics for technical review of the collection process of behavioral health data is required. Assesses time required for work processes and recommends revision in work methods, which will improve quality and efficiency of production within the FAP. Provides immediate oral/written data to applicable agency personnel at DoD, HQDA, Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management (ACSIM), Installation Management Command (IMCOM), OTSG, and HQ MEDCOM as the Behavioral Health SME.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 15% of the time.
  • Must maintain and obtain Secret investigation clearance.

Basic Requirements: A degree that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following: physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR A combination of education and experience-courses as shown in "A" above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The experience should have included a full range of professional statistical work such as (a) collecting, computing, and analyzing statistical data, (b) applying statistical techniques such as measurement of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, and sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, risk analysis, Poisson regression, logistic regression, analysis of variance, and tests of significance. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Foreign education must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency in order to be considered for this position. You must include this information with your application package. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes mastery of statistical theory and knowledge of behavioral health, which includes but is not limited to domestic violence, substance abuse, suicide, mental health, and the assessment of risk; analysis of data using probability statistics and trend analysis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Mathematical ReasoningTechnical CompetenceTechnology ApplicationTechnology Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent GS-12.
