About the Position: This position is located in the Army Futures & Concepts Center - Medical Capability Development Integration Directorate - Experimentation Division - Analysis Branch. The Medical CDID is the premier designer of integrated and effective world-class military medical capabilities.
Duties
As the Team Lead, you will oversee projects aimed at discovering innovative solutions for various challenges.
Provide statistical and/or analytical support for various projects.
Offer consultative services to Medical Capability Development Integration Directorate (MED CDID) personnel seeking data-driven analysis for medical operations.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This appointment is subject to completion of a 3-year probation period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements.

Basic requirement for STATISTICIAN DB-1530-03:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following: physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc.
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The experience should have included a full range of professional statistical work such as (a) sampling, (b) collecting, computing, and analyzing statistical data, and (c) applying statistical techniques such as measurement of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, analysis of variance, and tests of significance.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:
1) Utilizing mathematical techniques to solve problems;
2) Maintaining data warehouse and/or developing algorithms for data retrieval;
3) Planning and/or conducting medical field surveys; and
4) Utilizing the SAS and/or a similar system to manage medical data.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DB-02 (GS-11 Equivalent).
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
