Duties
As a Branch Chief Underwriter Team, you will:
Serve as the front line supervisor for an underwriting team of senior underwriters (GS-13) underwriters, (GS-09/11 and GS-12) analysts, (GS-5/7/9) processors and (GS-5/6/7) program assistance support staff within a Multifamily Hub or Satellite Office.
Be responsible for oversight of staff managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of planning, scoping, development design, construction, and operation of major multifamily insured and capital advance projects.
Apply extensive knowledge of construction disciplines, development and management concepts and principles, methods and practices.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-14 grade level is defined as one year of experience at the GS-13 grade level, or equivalent, which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience in ALL of the following:
Experience with the underwriting or credit approval process; AND
Analyzing mortgage finance programs either in the loan origination and project development process, or by writing policies or procedures for a housing/mortgage project or program; AND
Analyzing lending opportunities for affordable and market rate properties including market analysis, financial analysis, or valuation for affordable and market rate housing; AND
Mentoring, coaching, and developing staff to achieve goals and objectives.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
