About the Position: Serves as the Secretary and Administrative Assistant for Army Medicine Personnel Proponent Directorate Command Staff and four subordinate divisions located in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Duties

Acts as the primary timekeeper for the automated civilian pay system, reviews and maintains time and attendance records for Directorate civilian personal and Inputs data into the automated payroll system. Receives and screens all telephone calls and visitors for the Director and management officials. Reviews all documents for management signature(s) and/or coordination for conformance with regulation and special policies of the Directorate. Manages calendars for the Director, division chiefs and the Directorate conference rooms. Serves as the Directorate point of contact for Defense Travel System and provides guidance to Directorate personnel on all phases of travel to include preparation of Travel Vouchers.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing leadership calendars to schedule appointments; arranging meetings and conferences; directing calls and visitors to appropriate office based upon knowledge of programs and operations; maintaining office files of various types used to operate efficiently; reviewing correspondence for grammatical errors and conformance to regulations; making travel arrangements to include travel orders; using computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point) to compose correspondence, briefings and presentations; maintaining civilian time-and-attendance for a department and providing instruction to subordinate service and staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalComputer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Written Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
