About the Position: Serves as Senior Program Management Instructor and/or Course Director, having responsibility for planning, coordinating, and scheduling, the activities required to conduct the Army Acquisition Functional Area 51 Qualification Training.

Duties

Manages and presents assigned course(s) and related activities. Conducts independent research in the presentation and development of material for courses of instruction taught, analyzes, and interprets information from regulations, directives, and technical sources. Independently researches, analyzes, and interprets instructions, directives, regulations, standards, pamphlets, textbooks, technical reports, correspondence, discussions, and other information sources relative and educational techniques. Ensures the Army Acquisition Center of Excellence (AACoE) Acquisition courses are granted full equivalency with assigned DAU course(s) Leads or participates on committees, boards, teams, and other such groups to meet advisory, consultative, liaison, and representation requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet position requirements for Practitioner certification in the Acquisition Career Field Program Management within 60 months of entrance on duty.
  • Business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
  • Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience is defined as: 1) Operational knowledge of and the ability to instruct students in the Army Program Management process, i.e. joint capabilities integration and development system; planning, programing, budget and execution process; acquisition strategy; systems engineering; work breakdown structure; test and evaluation; logistics and sustainment; acquisition program baseline; earned value management; risk, issue, and opportunity management; production and follow-on support; environmental safety and occupational health; best manufacturing practices. 2) Ability to communicate both orally and in writing and articulate learning objectives to students at the graduate level.3) Ability to analyze and evaluate data and present courses of action to Director AACoE. 4) Ability to process and interpret digital computer data and be proficient in the MS Office and Adobe suites. 5) Knowledge of Army educational guidelines and processes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
