You will serve as a Knowledge Management Specialist in the NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

You will understand how people learn and how knowledge assets can be used to gain efficiencies in an organization. You will create and maintain collaborative relationships. You will gather requirements for planning, resourcing, executing, and assessing KM initiatives. You will work with individuals and organizations within the command to determine KM requirements. You will develop and execute plans to support and promote knowledge management. You will implement techniques to support this task to include assessing the needs of the NSMA staff, knowledge mapping/taxonomies, and knowledge audits.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector implementing and supporting knowledge management (KM) policies, strategies, practices, and projects throughout the organization in close coordination with other functional groups and stakeholders. The KM vision is to improve organizational and individual performance and efficiencies through knowledge intensive processes, activities, and tasks. The incumbent will support the execution and accomplishment of the organizations mission through a knowledge-centric approach that integrates people, processes, and technology while fostering a culture of teamwork, learning, and improvement. Duties are: 1. Gathering requirements for planning, resourcing, executing, and assessing Knowledge Management (KM) initiatives. 2. Implements strategies to enhance explicit and tacit knowledge production, management and sharing 3. Evaluating and assisting in establishing roles and responsibilities for supporting a knowledge management environment. 4. Preparing and presenting briefings as required to promote the KM program.
