Duties

As an INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST at the GG-0132-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as subject matter expert in intelligence directly supporting MDA Programs and Functions with tailored all-source intelligence to meet unique requirements. Derives requirements based on program knowledge and interaction with customers and then works with the Intelligence Community (IC) to satisfy those requirements Works directly with the IC (DIA, NASIC, NGA, NSA, NRO, CIA, ONI, DNI) and other federal entities, combatant commands and missile defense community of interest Supports a variety of developmental requirements related to missile technical collection. Communicates effectively, exchanging facts, ideas, issues and analyses with a wide range of audiences. Makes clear and convincing oral presentations and prepares succinct and well-organized papers, briefings and documentation to support decision-making. Works with a staff of government and contractor intelligence specialists to provide Intelligence production responsibilities, to include: daily intelligence products, monthly updates, briefing preparation and/or presentation, congressional testimony support, and ad hoc MDA staff support. Coordinates, and participates in, working groups, briefs senior MDA leaders and other leaders and other government officials, and writes concisely on ballistic missile defense matters. Recommends a course of action after assessing diverse intelligence materials which may be fragmentary, inconsistent, or unsubstantiated.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GG-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/GG-12 grade level in the Federal service: Please possess at least 2 of the following: Experience in intelligence collection, analysis, production, and presentation practices and processes acquired through formal training and extensive on-the-job experience to acquire comprehensive, all source data from the Intelligence Community and to maintain a library of current and emerging foreign missile threats. Experience researching information from a variety of sources at all levels of classification and obtaining, evaluating, organizing and maintaining information to support customer requirements. Experience building and employing sound analytic methodologies to identify rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
