You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Submarine Work Packaging and Control Branch (225), Process Controls Division (220), Office of the Chief Engineer (240), Engineering and Planning Department (200) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will assist in assigning work packaging duties and monitor the work progression for the project team.
You will assist project managers with schedule conflicts due to lack of materials or Technical Work Documents issues.
You will assist in the release, execution, and certification of prefabrication and inside shop work to support project schedule requirements.
You will represent the WPC Manager at various project meetings and briefs, such as Daily Production List meetings, Critical Task Briefs, Time Constraint Work meetings, material meetings.
You will procure, track, and coordinate material delivery to the project or inside shops.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience with the production methods, technical procedures, funding processes, and material and equipment required for maintenance, repair and overhaul of complex navy vessels.
Experience managing and executing work packaging processes in accordance with the Non Nuclear Work Packaging and Process Guide.
Experience providing material acquisition, and storage and disposal support on a naval shipyard.
Experience reading and interpreting TWDs, drawings, sketches, process instructions, Corporate Nuclear Power Manuals and Technical Manuals.
